Integrity game

                                           Integrity games
This term for integrity we were asked to make up a game for a team of Rata children.  This was my first time looking after 5 and 6 year old children and I really enjoyed it, and think they enjoyed it too.

The game my group invented was called Dragon nest.  First we explained to the group how the game went.  We told them that we will put them into groups of two.  Then we told them to go to a nest (hula hoop).  Then they had to try and rob a ball from the other teams nest, but if you get tagged by the dragon (Aidan, Max or me) you have to put the ball back in the nest you got it from and run back to your base, and then you can keep trying to get more balls.  The team that had the most balls when the bell rings wins.

I think we should do more of these integrity games for the Juniors they loved it and it gave us an opportunity to work with the younger children.

Kingfish

Kingfish
                                By Mac

“Surprisingly,” the line scorches my thumb as I try to stop it, ferociously the rod tugged, my spine shivered with fear from this moment I knew it was a kingfish. Ploushing, in and out of the sapphire water the kingfish swam with glee I thought he was in heaven. Pounding, with fear I knew it was time for the net “dad did you get it” there was silence “yes i did mac”

bike reflection

                                           Bike reflection !!!!!

On three Wednesdays last week we had some special people came and taught us some skills and teach us how to ride on the road safely. Now i am going to tell you how to ride on the road safely. now i am going to tell you what happened. stater
Paragraph 1
I was feeling excited because I was looking forward to learning about being safer on the road. The road safety teaching went over 3 Wednesdays and it was a good way to learn how to ride on a bike safely.  I haven't really done much riding on roads so it was a new experience for me.
paragraph 2
On the first Wednesday the people introduced themselves. We did a bike check A for air B for brakes C for chain and we had a helmet check. They taught us how to play the box game, at first when there were lots of people in the box it was tricky but when people got out it was easy.  On the second Wednesday we were taught how to use brakes properly and other skills, like how to ride your bike super slowly.  On the third Wednesday it was all about brakes so people would ride not too fast but not too slow in a straight line into a box as big as your bike and then you would stop in the box and see how long you could stay on your bike without putting your foot down.
paragraph 3
I think this a really good way to learn how to ride safely. I think this would be a good thing to do at other schools because I learnt lots and I think other kids would learn a lot too.  It makes me feel more confident to ride on the road.
